Joel: יזח קופ...there is always something to be gained from the other. I have an uncomfortable feeling that these beautiful sentiments which Sharon expresses are, practically speaking, unrealizable in the religious world. It seems that openness to the other and deep religious conviction are mutually incompatible, save for in a few exceptional individuals. Is it really possible to build an entire community in which greater involvement in the life of the community leads to greater 'metaphysical discomfort'? |
